INTERPRETATION

What “good” VCO looks like (key specs)

  • Moisture & volatile matter: ≤ 0.20% (too much moisture → rancidity/microbial risk). Scribd

Those limits align with the Philippine National Standard PNS/BAFPS 22:2007 and APCC VCO Standard used widely in trade.

If anything is borderline/high

  • Moisture high → improve final drying/polishing filtration; check storage drums for condensation.
  • FFA high → shorten time from extraction to oil separation; keep temps low; avoid water contact; use food-grade, dry containers.
  • PV high → reduce air/light/heat exposure; use nitrogen blanketing if possible; rotate stock (FIFO).
